If you are anything like me, my phone is always attached to my hand and I am constantly reading different social media sources. This term in one of my classes we created our own personal social media plan where we outlined exactly what we wanted to do with social media this term. The point behind the assignment was to show how we were going to grow our personal brand and online presence. After struggling to follow all of the guidelines that I created for myself I found this article really helpful in executing what I wanted to accomplish.
The advice that I took away from this article was to block out the many distractions in our lives. It is hard because some people see social media as a distraction but if used effectively it can really help a company. The other part of the article that I really liked was the part where they broke down what the best times and days to post on Facebook and Twitter. This was really helpful in knowing when my posts are going to be best received.
If all social media users were to read this article I wonder if posts would be better received? Or if there is not really a change. But it would make sense that those times and days are the best because it is times when people are not working/lunch break/getting off of work. Those are the times when there is a rush of people using social media to see what they missed for that day.
After reading this article, I am actively going to try to use some of the approaches listed and who knows maybe one of my tweets will go viral!
